Is This NOT The Cutest Thing Ever!?

When I was really young, my mother loved to watch old school, classic television.  Among our favorites were the television show “I Love Lucy” and any movie that starred Shirley Temple.  I came across this picture/quote combination earlier today and thought I would share.  I love it!

“I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.” – Shirley Temple

  1. I actually stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was 5. My mom handed me the JCPenney’s catalouge with a $200 budget and told me to write down the page number and letter of the item(s) I wanted for Christmas and that the total price had to be under that $200 limit. I guess it was her way of providing me early lessons in mathematics and budgeting, lol.

I never really believed in Santa, anyway. We didn’t have a chimney at our house growing up so I was always skeptical on how he would get in and deliver presents. I know, I was a pretty weird kid like that growing up, lol.

    • Ooh, nah I don’t think you were a weird kid. I did believe in Santa because we did have a chimney with a live, working fireplace and it snowed every Christmas. I remember having a slight freak-out moment when I was 5 or 6 because it was the day before Christmas and there was no snow-because of songs like “White Christmas” I believed that if there wasn’t any snow there would be no Christmas. But sure enough, it snowed overnight and I woke up to snow. It solidified my belief in the myth after that lol.
